Welcome

Welcome to the Wiki! --Starphoria 08:28, 14 January 2012 (MST)

Favor

Hi, as seen here, there are files to be moved over, do you mind assisting in moving these files from the old wiki? --Starphoria 11:28, 14 January 2012 (MST)

Greetings once again!

How are you liking the structure of this new site? I'm starting to get fairly used to it, but it definitely seems a bit more complex than the wikia version. By the way, have you read this preview? http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/impressions/29006

I should warn you that it has some spoilers, one of which is actually really shocking and unexpected. We should have spoiler warnings available on here soon, so if you do read it, don't post this info just yet. Anyways, I'm liking how great everything is looking in the game! Do you still think we should schedule an online battle with the other wiki members when the game finally arrives? --DoctorFantastic 22:26, 24 January 2012 (MST)

Yeah, I'm still trying to adjust here, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it sooner or later. Yes, this game is shaping up to be awesome. My only concern is whether or not this game will do well commercially (after all, it's Nintendo franchise without the word 'Mario' or 'Pokemon' in it, but I'm confident Nintendo will advertise it thoroughly). And holy crap, I totally did not see that coming regarding Gaol. Sounds like a huge Metroid reference Sakurai threw in there. Also about the online battles, yes, we should schedule them soon. I can tell the others about it on Skype (are you on the Icaruspedia Skype chatroom?). We will try our best to find an appropriate date for most of the members on this site. -RicketyTrigger 01:33, 25 January 2012 (MST)-
Yes, this game actually has quite a few Metroid references, huh? I even heard that the Star Pirates might officially be named Space Pirates, since it's what most reviewers are calling them. I also wonder if this means that the dark lord has a different name. Dark Mistress Gaolita, perhaps?? Either way, I think this game will do great if Nintendo creates a demo for it. And this shouldn't just be any normal demo. It should be one of those demos Nintendo mentioned that would automatically download to any systems with an Internet connection. I know they talked about this feature at some point, and this would be the perfect opportunity to test it out. By the way, did you say you know someone who can translate some Japanese, as the official site updated with A LOT of written information just recently. It shows a really cool-looking Pirate Cannon as well! Oh, and I don't have a Skype account at this time.
WOW, and loads of artwork too! http://www.flickr.com/photos/25792657@N00/sets/72157629044571589/ --DoctorFantastic 14:23, 26 January 2012 (MST)
Absolutely, a demo is a must for this game. I wouldn't be surprised if the woman is Magnus' daughter or wife or something cause he's supposed to have some kind of connection to Gaol, so he may already know Gaol is female. My theory is that the Underworld Army probably kidnapped and brainwashed the lady, and Magnus is possibly trying to save her. But I can already imagine Pit's reaction to finding out Gaol's true identity XD. I'll see if my friend is willing to translate all the new info on the Japanese website (or maybe you want specific info translated?). I'm going to see him this Sunday, but I can't guarantee he'll do it, cause he doesn't really care for video games, but I'll try my best to convince him. Also, the Mimicutie thing gave me a good laugh. -RicketyTrigger 18:20, 26 January 2012 (MST)-
Leave it to Sakurai to stick female legs onto a Treasure Chest, and also to place one inside a fish! I wish we could post these artworks, but I'm not sure if its allowed because of the whole copyright thing with Flickr. Not sure how that works if the artwork still technically belongs to Nintendo. Anyways, no pressure with translating the stuff on the website. I believe most of it is supposed to be Sakurai's thoughts on the game, rather than any information about the game itself anyways. As for the whole Gaol thing, Magnus still says he's in it for reward money, although he seems like the type of character that would make stuff up to hide his more sensitive side, I suppose. I certainly look forward to finding out in the near future. --DoctorFantastic 19:22, 26 January 2012 (MST)

Sorry, I actually didn't find out about the copyright thing until after I posted the link. I honestly don't think it's a big deal since they shouldn't be able to claim a copyright for Nintendo's artwork, at least as far as I know. It might just be some kind of rule for the site itself. For now, we could ask an admin about this and see if they think it's okay to use these. If it won't work, we can simply remove them from the pages for now and repost them when the images become more widespread over the Internet. --DoctorFantastic 20:12, 26 January 2012 (MST)

Well if that's the case, it shouldn't be a big deal, but I'll learn to be more careful next time! Now that I've taken a much more closer look at the artwork, I think I know who the artist is. I think its Hirooka Masaki: http://www.backfire.jp. He also did artwork for Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. If it is him, I'm glad Sakurai chose him for the job, his artwork is really nice. However I'm still curious who the composer is. My best guess for now is Shogo Sakai. -RicketyTrigger 21:08, 26 January 2012 (MST)-
Yes, I actually just sent a request for the artwork to the site itself. If they don't allow it, we can simply remove the images for now. I sure hope they are okay with it, because the images look so ridiculously glorious on this wiki! I'm not familiar at all with the artist or the composer, but what I do know is that whoever they may be, they're EXTREMELY talented.
Yeah, these images are already beginning to appear on other sites anyways, some of which we haven't even seen before, like this: http://nintendoeverything.com/81799/lots-of-kid-icarus-uprising-art/?pid=20379 --DoctorFantastic 21:17, 26 January 2012 (MST)
So I guess is it okay to use them or should we still wait? -RicketyTrigger 22:18, 26 January 2012 (MST)-
It should actually be okay, since these were all sent out by Nintendo of Europe. Some sites have said they only posted these pictures on Flickr because there were so many, that it crashed their own gallery pages. I'm not surprised, as I found the gold mine of media right here. Over 600 images and artwork: http://www.flickr.com/photos/abriael/sets/72157629043030453/
By the way, sorry for posting so many links. --DoctorFantastic 23:11, 26 January 2012 (MST)
It's alright mate, and wow thanks for finding this, we better get to work! -RicketyTrigger 00:05, 27 January 2012 (MST)-

Dark Pit Theory?

Huh, that's funny, this guy sounds a lot like me. Oh wait a minute...

By the way, you must check out the brilliance of the Eggplant Wizard page! --DoctorFantastic 18:48, 31 January 2012 (MST)

Indeed, you can sort of see the structural similarities between my names DoctorFantastic and MrMindFormula, eh? Honestly, I'm not sure where I got the latter one from, though...
Anyways, I'm glad to see this trailer translated, especially because there appears to be a hidden villain within the dialogue. Notice that someone says "Come on then, servent of the goddess!" in a voice that doesn't match Dark Pit or any other revealed villain for that matter? Apparently, we'll also have to save deities that have fallen to the Underworld Army, so perhaps we'll see good ol' Zeus along with some other gods! Very interesting... --DoctorFantastic 09:34, 1 February 2012 (MST)
Eh, for this type of game, I'm not sure if other angelic characters would be necessary at this time. If this game becomes successful though, they can surely expand on the series' mythology with future installments, including the addition of a more angelic population in Skyworld. --DoctorFantastic 23:31, 3 February 2012 (MST)
Well, who knows. We may see more angels in the final release yet. On another note, THIS has me very excited: http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/29181 Seriously, if this is true, this could possibly be one of the most content-rich portable games ever! --DoctorFantastic 13:56, 4 February 2012 (MST)
In the words of M. Bison, YYEEESSSSSSSS, this would be amazing. But I find it weird why this has to be patented. -RicketyTrigger 12:59, 5 February 2012 (MST)-
It's actually pretty common for game companies to patent certain elements and ideas, almost to the point of absurdity. However, this actually seems like a fairly unique idea. I've yet to hear of a game that has weapon fusing. Upgrading, customizing, and collecting maybe, but never weapon fusing. Hope this idea is well executed, anyways! --DoctorFantastic 19:25, 5 February 2012 (MST)

Chocolate?

You want to talk about interesting news, just look at this: http://andriasang.com/comzxr/kid_icarus_snacks/images/23r9h/

Now, while the whole AR cards packaged with chocolate thing is rather strange in itself, take a look at the cards shown in the advertisement. I think I see some new characters in there! We need a higher resolution picture FAST. --DoctorFantastic 00:57, 12 February 2012 (MST)

Oh my gosh, this reminds me of my childhood when my brother and I used to buy this Pokemon bread that contained stickers of Pokemon. Anyways, is that Zeus I see there? And the card next to the Big Reaper looks like some kind of bird or dragon, and that one next to Dark Pit looks like Medusa with a fancier artwork. -RicketyTrigger 01:33, 12 February 2012 (MST)-
Pokemon....bread? Aahh, Nintendo. Always promoting their franchises in the most unusual ways. I think the one with Medusa is supposed to be her astral projection, and this is like her third card as well. I doubt the robed one is Zeus, simply because I'm almost sure he'd be allied with Palutena rather than Unaffiliated, but I suppose anything is possible at this point. That last one on the other hand I can't figure out at all. I hope Nintendo releases a larger picture, because I have a feeling we've barely scratched the surface in terms of characters and villains in this game.
By the way, someone posted a full video of the first chapter at its best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W11igiBtmFc --DoctorFantastic 12:21, 12 February 2012 (MST)
Well, the robed one may not be Zeus, but it certainly looks like some kind of god, or maybe a human king. I'm pretty sure the green one is some sort of avian creature. It looks like it has two big wings. Maybe if Nintendo won't upload more AR cards until release date, we may be lucky enough that Sakurai uploads a few new ones on his Twitter before them. If there are this many characters in this game, I can't imagine how many chapters there are. And thanks for the video. Too bad they didn't play Chaper 2 or 3. Probably to avoid spoilers.-RicketyTrigger 13:08, 12 February 2012 (MST)-
Yeah, and I must say, I'm not as pleased with how the chapter art is laid out in the final version. I liked when it had the artwork of the chapter's key characters featured on the images, like in the E3 demo. But it's a minor gripe, and I still like how the overall Arm's Altar menu looks. In terms of characters, I hope we also get an in-game appearance from a monster I like to call Veggiephemus, the plant cyclops that will appear in the Kid Icarus Anime shorts. --DoctorFantastic 15:41, 12 February 2012 (MST)
I agree, the chapter layout is pretty plain compared to the demos. I really want to see the anime shorts, especially the one about Medusa. I would like some proper backstory for her. We don't even know why she hates humans. Speaking of which, would you like to see a proper Kid Icarus anime series in the near future? I would certainly love to. I think it should be a prequel to Uprising because just copy and pasting Uprising's plot wouldn't be that original or exciting. But it begs the question if the series should be considered canon or not. -RicketyTrigger 21:50, 12 February 2012 (MST)-
Yeah, and I want to see the one about Thanatos, mainly because I want to actually see the character in action. Seriously, he looks like a fish! An awesome fish! A fishy god, if you will. A full animated series would also be excellent, but first we must see how successful the game itself will be. --DoctorFantastic 23:41, 12 February 2012 (MST)

Pretty awesome trailer!

Today's trailer really showed off some cool stuff, huh? I like how this game is not only based on mythology, but also has numerous biblical references, first with the Babel Club and now a recreation of the parting of the Red Sea! Speaking of which, I wonder if there is a chance that we'll be seeing a character based on Poseidon since the Seafloor Palace is supposed to be underwater? I also wonder if they really showed off the final boss battle at the end, because it seems rather unusual that Nintendo would spoil something like that, at least this far from release. --DoctorFantastic 19:25, 17 February 2012 (MST)

Yes, indeed it was. I'm also surprised by the large number of biblical references, but it's a pretty nice touch. I've been thinking the same thing that there could be some kind of sea god like Poseidon/Neptune. I highly doubt that was the final boss. I don't think Nintendo has ever revealed the final boss fight for any of their games before release. It's probably a half-way-through-the-game Medusa boss fight, sort of like in some Mario games, you fight Bowser several times as you progress and as a final boss. -RicketyTrigger 20:22, 17 February 2012 (MST)-
I was sort of thinking that, too. But wow, is that gonna be some boss fight! I wouldn't have guessed that Medusa's astral projection represented her actual size. I mean, she's almost twice as tall as the Big Reaper, who was already enormous to begin with. Pit also looks awesome wearing the Three Sacred Treasures, and it looks like he gains unlimited flight whilst he is wearing them. --DoctorFantastic 22:00, 17 February 2012 (MST)
It's hard to say if that's really Medusa's true size or not. After all, she is a goddess so she can probably change her physical size on her own will. For the real final boss fight, I want Pit to fight her normal sized, because I want to see the two clash swords (or whatever weapon they prefer) together, but that's probably just me. Yes, Pit's armor looks awesome, I hope they release an equally awesome official artwork of him equipped with the Three Sacred Treasures. -RicketyTrigger 22:30, 17 February 2012 (MST)-
I wouldn't be surprised, as they seem to want to adapt everything that isn't a menu item into artwork of sorts. Even the locations have been hand drawn, which shows some great dedication. If the final Medusa fight does have her normal sized, I hope it's a two part battle with her transforming into some kind of beast similar to her monster form for the second part. That would be pretty snazzy, and we all know how Sakurai likes making excellent final boss fights, with Marx, Master Hand, Tabuu, and Nightmare all being prime examples. --DoctorFantastic 22:42, 17 February 2012 (MST)
I would kill somebody love for an official artbook to be released for this game via Club Nintendo. -RicketyTrigger 23:15, 17 February 2012 (MST)-
Yes, it would have to be a pretty large artbook with how much artwork there is. And congratulations on getting the Editor-in-Chief position! Now our staff roster will be complete when we become a part of NIWA. Oh, and one more thing, did they REALLY change Magnus' name to Magna?? I was hoping Nintendo of America just messed up the spelling, because that would simply be outrageous if they changed it to Magna when Magnus was already a perfecly suitable name. --DoctorFantastic 17:10, 18 February 2012 (MST)
Thanks, but I feel like I won't be keeping the position for too long, cause I'll be very busy within the next month. Well, that's what the American site calls him. If it is a spelling error, I don't know how the heck they managed to misspell Magnus with Magna. You'd think they would at least double check the spelling before submitting it. But I'll be mad either way, cause I already changed everything to Magna. -RicketyTrigger 17:18, 18 February 2012 (MST)
Hopefully someone is consulting Nintendo about this. Unfortunately, it seems likely that they did change the name since they have yet to edit the spelling after so much time has passed, not to mention mistakes like this are extremely rare. In this case, I suppose I'll update the Chapter artwork soon, and if it actually was a mistake, we can just revert all of the edits and the picture change. I also don't think the other staff mambers will mind if you're unavailable for a while, although you should still mention it to them if you haven't already. --DoctorFantastic 17:32, 18 February 2012 (MST)

Editor-in-Chief

Hello. Since DoctorFantastic is turning down the position, I was wondering if you would like to become Editor-in-Chief? Since you make a lot of edits, you'll be perfect. You can choose to keep the position as long as you want. --Starphoria (C·E) 08:23, 18 February 2012 (MST)

clr

If you ever see templates overlapping one another put {{clr}} on top of the second item. (i.e an infobox and navigation template are overlapping, put clr on the navigation template since it comes second, here is an example of that). --Starphoria (C·E) 20:23, 18 February 2012 (MST)

Thanks, this will be very useful -RicketyTrigger 20:27, 18 February 2012 (MST)-

Have you listened to this yet?!

Only five songs, and yet the soundtrack already sounds incredible! Chapter 4's music was greatly improved as well. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/akdj/music/music01.html --DoctorFantastic 19:21, 22 February 2012 (MST)

Indeed DoctorFanastic, the music is terrific. Now we just need to know the composer(s). I really like Dark Pit's theme. I'm quite a fan of Spanish style music. -RicketyTrigger 20:44, 22 February 2012 (MST)-
Oh yes, I agree RicketyTigger..... See?? How do you like having your username misspelled, hmmm? Hope you like Winnie-the-Pooh, good sir. Anyways, my favorite music is definitely the Reaper's theme because it has such a fun and awesome vibe to it! Also, my new favorite character in the game is Beam Claws. --DoctorFantastic 01:41, 23 February 2012 (MST)
Heh, used to love Winnie the Pooh as a kid, and Tigger was my favorite. I like Beam Claws, but Twinbellows Cannon is also pretty cool. He knocks people off with authority. Anyways, I always liked the Fighters since they were shown at last E3. I don't really know why, but I think they look pretty cool. -RicketyTrigger 01:57, 23 February 2012 (MST)-
I bet it has something to do with them being awesome, futuristic techno-Greek warriors that can wield any type of weapon. I must say, after seeing so much multiplayer content, I've become slightly concerned that single player might have been neglected in comparison. Then again, Mr. Sakurai has surprised me before. Despite my concern, I still have a feeling that perhaps the overall adventure might be larger than we expected. --DoctorFantastic 18:12, 23 February 2012 (MST)

Template:Editor's Notes

I would suggest updating it monthly (starting now I guess), so you can update on all the projects. Like we talked about before, just introduce yourself, tell everyone on the template that you are the EiC, and discuss the projects in which we need the most expansion in and such. (Which is right now removing Wikia links, and working on people, companies and music articles). --Starphoria (C·E) 17:12, 26 February 2012 (MST)

We should also probably change the images to thumb articles by adding [[File:Imagehere.jpg|thumb]]. --Starphoria (C·E) 17:01, 27 February 2012 (MST)
And begin to add references to our articles... --Starphoria (C·E) 17:32, 27 February 2012 (MST)

Skype

Can you get on Skype ASAP? We need to discuss some things :P --Starphoria (C·E) 13:38, 29 February 2012 (MST)

I'm deeply sorry, I cannot be on Skype on the moment. I'll try to be on there in the next two hours or so. You can start discussing now (I'm sure you already have though). I'll catch up later. -RicketyTrigger 16:22, 29 February 2012 (MST)-
We'll wait for you :P I have to eat dinner anyway. --Starphoria (C·E) 16:46, 29 February 2012 (MST)

Re: Question

Thanks for the link, but I can't believe that there is actually a shrimp tempura monster! That's so crazy, and yet I still find it so clever! He even has a staff and little shrimp-like legs. He's the tastiest looking monster I've ever seen! I wonder if he's actually going to be a major yet comical villain? Okay, all of that madness aside, the images have been coming from the game's Japanese Twitter account: http://twitter.com/#!/3DS_Palutena. It's almost like a Kid Icarus version of the Smash Bros. Dojo with daily updates, and the translations usually come later on the UK Twitter account. By the way, Pandora's been confirmed to return at last, and there's new images of the anime shorts on the Twitter account as well! --DoctorFantastic 21:40, 5 March 2012 (MST)

If that's the case, I have no idea what other images you speak of. Pandora appears on an AR Card image circulating the Web, but unfortunately she's mostly covered by another card, although her name can be seen here: http://neogaf.net/forum/showthread.php?t=464825&page=5. Hey, I bet that shrimp guy is the cousin of the Eggplant Wizard or something. --DoctorFantastic 22:01, 5 March 2012 (MST)
Some fantastic news from the Official Nintendo Magazine's review: "The single player campaign is huge, for a start, and it sits alongside two full-featured local and online multiplayer modes [offering] countless equippable weapons and powers that work across both." My fears of a short story mode have certainly been alleviated. --DoctorFantastic 10:00, 6 March 2012 (MST)

Indeed

Eh, I always thought that my theory would be a bit too complex for Nintendo to consider, but it was enjoyable speculation nonetheless. And there is certainly no doubt that it is the same mirror, which I am guessing reveals the dark side of those who look into it (hence the creation of Dark Pit). What is also worth noting is that the card with Pandora seems to show that same mirror in the background, meaning she could possibly be part of this madness as well (being the goddess of disaster, I wouldn't at all be surprised). In addition, there seems to be a new card class with a symbol that resembles a Pokeball inside a gear, which also fascinates me. Do you want to know what really annoys me? This: http://www.gonintendo.com/content/uploads/images/2012_3/KI%20Starter%20Pack.jpg

I have been waiting to see Thanatos' brilliant full design for quite some time, only for them to post a picture of his card covered by other cards?? I think they specifically and intentionally wanted to annoy me with anticipation, first with Pandora and now this! At least his transformation card gives us a glimpse of his awesome and fashionable genie pants.

EDIT: Well, you should check out the new trailer on the Japanese website, as some of the above questions have been answered! --DoctorFantastic 23:38, 7 March 2012 (MST)

Hey, do you think the voice at the beginning of the trailer is Zeus? I don't know who else it could be, and he certainly sounds fantastic and powerful! --DoctorFantastic 16:16, 8 March 2012 (MST)
Yes, the trailer was amazing, and all of the English voices sound great, especially Thanatos and Pandora! I think that other dialogue was just Dark Pit talking in a rowdy voice, but I could be wrong. As for the two articles you mentioned, it's safe to say they are the same character, so the articles should be merged. I never really noticed before, but Tanatos only ever appeared one at a time, so perhaps it was portrayed as a sort of character originally. I'm also still wondering how long the game actually is, as I think these bosses cover the first eight chapters in order: Twinbellows, Dark Lord Gaol, Hewdraw, Big Reaper, Pandora, Dark Pit, Thanatos, and the Space Kraken. This is a guess, anyways. --DoctorFantastic 16:38, 8 March 2012 (MST)
I'm thinking Dark Pit first comes in right after Pandora's defeat, as it is shown very briefly in the trailer. Pit then pursues him for the first time in the following chapter, because I'm pretty sure a reviewer stated that chapter 6 has Dark Pit as the boss. Still not completely sure, though. Hopefully another chapter name will be revealed soon enough. By the way, I found a picture of AR cards with one that just says "Gaol", so its probably her human form. Unfortunately, they once again covered the picture...
It also still shows that she's allied with Underworld forces; how much do you wanna bet that Gaol is Magnus' evil sister? --DoctorFantastic 16:56, 8 March 2012 (MST)

Surprised in a fantastic way

I remembered hearing somewhere that he denied voicing Pit, but these actors certainly sound great as they are. Especially Thanatos, as he sounds like both Ed Wynn (an old comedian and actor) and Chef Kawasaki from the Kirby anime series, which automatically makes him excellent. If you noticed, they also had a new piece of music in the short, and since all of the other tracks came from the game, I can't wait to see where it will appear! I also hope this short is based on a chapter in the game, because flying around those Trojan horse walkers would be awesome. --DoctorFantastic 19:41, 8 March 2012 (MST)

I don't know about you....

....but I REALLY want to hear the rest of this music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDXIPly0SGQ&feature=relmfu. This is truly gonna be a soundtrack of the gods, eh? --DoctorFantastic 17:28, 12 March 2012 (MDT)

That's fine, I remember that you mentioned you were going to be busy in March, and since we are finally receiving quite a few new members, the wiki should have little trouble staying up to date. There's a chance I might not be present on here as well when the game releases, because I want to try and keep myself from spoiling the rest of the story mode. Hope you have fun on your vacation, and we shall speak again when the Uprising finally begins! --DoctorFantastic 21:52, 13 March 2012 (MDT)
There was something BIG just revealed. Have you heard about it??--DoctorFantastic 12:06, 18 March 2012 (MDT)

Welcome Back!

So you went to Indonesia, eh? That sounds fantastic! I've always wanted to go there myself, mainly because I have a great interest in Komodo dragons. Anyways, I'm very sorry if you hadn't wanted those spoilers revealed, but the best I could do when posting this information was to use the spoiler template, even though it doesn't really hide the text at all (like they often do on other wikis). Even I regret spoiling myself to this info, but it kinda came up unexpectedly. However, I am actually proud of both Sakurai and Nintendo for this major twist in the story, because it is one that I would have NEVER anticipated. When advertising and promoting this game for the past couple of years, so much of the focus was on Medusa and her minions, that it was incredibly surprising to see the game suddenly explode into a greatly expanded Kid Icarus universe after her defeat. And there's still A LOT we don't know, 25 chapters worth! And I was thinking that 24 would be pushing it, yet the game actually surpassed that number! Okay, all of that excitement aside, I really wish those videos hadn't been removed, as they were incredible. At one point, Pit was flying right above an army of hundreds of individual soldiers and horsemen with molten rocks flying everywhere. It made the war scene in chapter 2 look peaceful in comparison! Hopefully, people will start uploading these videos again soon, because even a few days is going to be a tremendous wait. --DoctorFantastic 22:41, 20 March 2012 (MDT)

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed your trip! Sounds like it was quite an adventure. As for Dark Pit, one person who has the game hinted that he is not as bad as he seems, so I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him. And a reviewer said that Hades is comparable to the best Disney villains, which excites me greatly because I really like Disney. I think the intent with downgrading Medusa was to show that she's no longer the only big baddie of the Kid Icarus series (besides Orcos), but I'm sure this won't be the last time we see her if Nintendo continues the franchise. Also, her stage looks like it will be incredibly epic in and of itself, making it feel like a true final battle despite there being more story thereafter. Out of all the characters old and new, I personally want her the most in the next Smash Bros. game because she is so unique for a Nintendo villain. Also, Viridi literally looks and sounds like an almighty, demented spoiled brat, who treats humans as if they were nothing more than little toys that she can just use for target practice (at least from what I've seen of her so far). She's also awesomely unique for this very reason. The Star Wars level is really cool as well, and Pit has some funny dialogue, including a short victory song. Beyond this, I've heard that the story gets just plain outrageous the further you get into it. Also, there is one video that was left behind, but it mainly highlights some of the game's bizarre music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EMDpBQNe48 --DoctorFantastic 23:55, 20 March 2012 (MDT)
P.S. I really wish they had come up with a more creative name for Dark Pit's chapter instead of just "Dark Pit".
Well, people have said there are still quite a few twists in the story, so I suppose both the Medusa and Hades theories are very possible. The latter, however, might be a bit deep even by Sakurai standards, similar to my original Dark Pit theory being a bit too complex. We'll find out soon enough, though. Also, I can see Medusa becoming the "Ridley" of the Kid Icarus series, in that she keeps coming back as a recurring villain, yet by far will still be the most popular even compared to whatever new major villains pop up. In my opinion, she still has the best updated design of any retro Nintendo character I've ever seen. By the way, have you heard of the new information about Gaol? It's actually pretty deep. --DoctorFantastic 00:30, 21 March 2012 (MDT)
I think Pit's just to young to fly on his own. Then again, we have no idea how he even ages. For all we know, 25 human years could equal 1 angel year, but hopefully this will get cleared up at some point. As for Gaol, and I warn you that this is also spoilerish (but not relevant to the bigger story as far as I know), she was apparently a mercenary that worked with Magnus, and was possibly his lover as well (throwing another theory of mine down the gutter). That isn't even the shocking part. Apparently, Magnus had a child that passed away prior to these events, and is possibly what caused Gaol to join Medusa's forces in the first place. I have a new theory that she allied herself with Medusa hoping that she could get her to spare her child's soul from the clutches of the Underworld, to which Magnus didn't agree with, causing their separation. Crazy stuff, and I bet that little girl on the AR card is this child, meaning there might be much more to this little side story than we first thought. --DoctorFantastic 00:52, 21 March 2012 (MDT)
Even with the big revelation, there are still so many questions left to answer, like how Thanatos fits into all of this madness! And hey, did you know that being the god of death apparently gives you a great insurance plan, as well as all of the free soda you want? Yes, I can hardly wait. And here's another video of the first chapter, where Medusa's voice actually sounds improved: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_64DOSkRUs --DoctorFantastic 01:19, 21 March 2012 (MDT)
EDIT: Okay, now we're starting to see some more stuff! Bad sound quality in the video, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wbM4Q6QdXo&feature=BFa&list=PLCF256A4AC590FB45&lf=plcp

Nintendo Network

I'd add something about it to the Uprising article, or make a separate article for it. Do you know anything about it? --Starphoria (C·E) 15:49, 21 March 2012 (MDT)

Also, be sure to work hard on Uprising stuff! I know I'll try my best. :D --Starphoria (C·E) 17:20, 21 March 2012 (MDT)

Skype

Hey, I'll need you to get on Skype in a bit, so we can discuss content things. --Starphoria (C·E) 17:54, 26 March 2012 (MDT)

Hello from the Strategy Wiki

We've made the guide for Kid Icarus: Uprising our Collaboration of the Month, and I was wondering if we could use resources from Icaruspedia to help build our guide. This is what we have so far. As you can see, we desperately need info and images, and I thought that you might be able to help. Can we have your permission to use your wiki? Thanks.--Salnax 18:40, 15 April 2012 (MDT)

Yes, go on ahead. Just remember to credit us :) -RicketyTrigger 23:12, 15 April 2012 (MDT)-

Welcome back again!

Glad to see you've returned, although I understand if you're still gonna be busy for a while. I have beaten Uprising and it definitely exceeded my expectations, aside from a few minor disappointments that we can talk about later. The controls take some brief getting used to, but they practically became second nature to me a couple chapters in. Everything else is pretty much perfect in my opinion! Online multiplayer is also very fun and quite addicting, works much better than Brawl's. Hope you enjoy the game, as it's definitely one of the 3DS's best! --DoctorFantastic 00:40, 16 April 2012 (MDT)

This game does leave a lot up to the player's imagination, yet all of these unique characters will open up great possibilities for a sequel. My primary disappointment is that Zeus was completely excluded even though both Hades and Poseidon were added, so I'm hoping he will be reintroduced in a sequel as well. As for the Medusa/Hades thing, I personally think they're both great villains and hope to see them return in the future. I believe that Medusa will always come back one way or another, because she and Pit share a sort of rivalry connection that no other new villain could ever replace, similar to Mario/Bowser, Link/Gannondorf, Samus/Ridley, ect. Finally, I'm not at all disappointed with how Dark Pit's side of the story came out, because Sakurai did a great job twisting the whole dark twin cliché into something unique. Even though my "Twin Brother Theory" was quite wrong, in the end, they actually acted very brotherly towards each other. Long story short, it was a fantastic game, and I just hope it sells very well at this point. By the way, Hades pretty much obliterated the fourth wall in this game! I mean, did you wait 5 minutes after the end credits? --DoctorFantastic 01:20, 21 April 2012 (MDT)
Oh wow, I kinda died there. Sorry about that, more tests and big projects were in my hands, plus with some family problems. Well anyways, I did really like the game, those were just small nitpicks of mine so don't mind them. Kinda sad to hear there are currently no plans for a sequel. Would really love to play a brand new Kid Icarus game for the Wii U in beautiful HD on a big screen. I will definitely be more active during late June so no worries and I will try to remember to tell you guys if I ever do go on a bit of a hiatus next time. -RicketyTrigger 19:07, 4 June 2012 (MDT)-

Hey

It's been awhile since we talked :) It seems you are busy too, I've had a TON of exams in the last couple weeks, so I usually only check on the wiki every so often now. That should change during the summer though, I'll work on the AR Cards then. --Starphoria (C·E) 13:32, 11 May 2012 (MDT)

Oh man, I'm very sorry I haven't been active for like over a month, and I also apologize for not telling sooner. I've been incredibly busy as well and some bad things have been happening to my relatives living in my home country. Until school is over for summer break, I am definitely sure I will be around more to shape this place up a bit. -RicketyTrigger 19:03, 4 June 2012 (MDT)-

Concern for other users

Dear RicketyTrigger,

I'm writing this so as to bring to your attention the certain content and behavior newcomers on this Wiki are showing. Most are getting an account so as to create their own profile. No mainspace edits are done, only useless userspace edits. The saddest thing is the content these new members are posting. Not to go into detail, but the paragraphs and paragraphs of pointless pixels are to do with love and all sorts, NOT even with Nintendo or Kid Icarus. I strongly suggest you take action about this. One possible suggestion to go about this would be to take the Super Mario Wikis strict and sensible rules about these matters. Profiles can only be created once users are autoconfirmed, and even when so, the profiles can only contain minimal content about non-related Nintendo subjects. Please, I beg of you, this Wiki is in need of serious maintenance, and simple rules like these are TOTALLY beneficial. I strongly suggest using the Mariowiki as an example.

Yours sincerely,

JORDAN DEBONO 15:44, 1 July 2012 (MDT)

Thanks for telling me this, I'll find a way to fix this problem as soon as possible. -RicketyTrigger 01:35, 20 July 2012 (MDT)-

Skype

Dear RicketyTrigger,

I would like to be a part of the Skype chat of Icaruspedia. I have already contacted IceBlue and ToastUltimatum but none have an account unfortunately. Could you add me please. My username is pakonna and my Full name is Jordan DeBono. Thank you for your time, JORDAN DEBONO 15:26, 10 August 2012 (MDT)

Sent you a friend request, and you're very welcome to the Skype chat :). RicketyTrigger 15:29, 10 August 2012 (MDT)

Emergency lockdown?

I've noticed that we've had to block almost 1,000 spambots since they started appearing a few months ago and they pop up too quickly for them to be blocked at this point; I've never seen anything like it before on any of the wikis I've used- it has to be some kind of coordinated attack. Although this may sound drastic, I suggest that we disable user registration until the spambots are eliminated for good; otherwise we'll eventually be overwhelmed by them completely. At the very least, we ought to require email confirmation for new users along with the autoconfirmation system suggested by JORDAN DEBONO. Whatever we do, we should do it quickly before it's too late.--Anothrgamer1234 20:10, 19 August 2012 (MDT)

Well, it looks like we don't have many options right now, so I guess a temporary emergency lockdown is needed until the problems are solved. —RicketyTrigger 22:05, 19 August 2012 (MDT)
Hmm, I can't seem to be able to access the LocalSettings.php file to install the coding. I think I'm doing something wrong here... —RicketyTrigger 01:26, 20 August 2012 (MDT)

Options Menu/Together Mode and More

First off...we need to have pages for the Options menu, the Training Room/Waiting Room needs to have a page and the Together mode needs to have section for each mode (Gear; Nearby; Far Away; With Friends; With Anyone). For the Options menu, we include Controls (which may need another page since there are so many controls >_>), Profile, More Controls (listing Guide Arrow, Shot Homing, Aim Assist, and Autofire), and Hidden Options. Also I have been redirecting pages to the Powers article (e.g. Slip Shot goes to Powers#Slip Shot) and I think we should finish this, as well as doing the same for items. IceBlue[C] 22:24, 21 September 2012 (MDT)

Alright, I guess I can agree with most of these, but what do you mean by redirecting items? Items have their own separate articles unlike Powers. Unless you're talking about things like the Elemental Cards which come in different variaties. —RicketyTrigger 22:48, 21 September 2012 (MDT)
No creating the pages. The page Slip Shot was originally a red link before I created it (redirecting to Powers). And what should we do with the pages like Eggplant Bomb? They can't be greatly expanded on. Should we merge them into an Items page (we should make one regardless)? IceBlue[C] 22:51, 21 September 2012 (MDT)
I understand the Power part. But I guess some of the items should be merged onto a single page. All bombs/explosives such as the Eggplant Bomb, Tempura Bomb, X-Bomb, Gilded Bomb, Grenade, etc. could be on one page. And other offensive weapons such as the Lightning of Judgement and Atlas Foot could be on another. But I think the Daybreak is special enough to get its own page. —RicketyTrigger 22:58, 21 September 2012 (MDT)
Ok Let's put the merge templates on them. IceBlue[C] 13:56, 22 September 2012 (MDT)

Channel

Do you want to make this official: #kidicaruswiki. It would be nice to have a community chat, so we can discuss proposals (like the Mergings I was talking about) as well as policies which we need to create soon. We can't forget to add Special:Webchat to the special pages. IceBlue[C] 19:09, 22 September 2012 (MDT)

Image Consideration

This image may pose an issue with our policies: File:SyrenPict.png
The image is cropped, so it isn't official artwork, but the full image shows nudity (as mentioned in the trivia for the page). Should this wiki be censored in that aspect or not? I think the image should be shown since it is official artwork and I don't believe younger users will have an issue with that (I don't know if they are even users under 13 here). If you want the full image Divinipedia has one. IceBlue[C] 20:58, 1 October 2012 (MDT)

Sorry to butt in, but I would find the full image to be fine. It's official artwork and the nudity is tasteful. If there are concerns on appropriateness, we can use the current thumbnail to link to the full image so that way potentially-offensive content isn't out in the open but is still available. Either way, I'll leave the final decision to RicketyTrigger on this one. Maxite 02:19, 2 October 2012 (MDT)
I personally never had a problem with the nude Syren artwork. I'm pretty sure it was someone else that cropped the image months back. But seeing no one seems to have a problem with it currently, I don't see why not to use the full picture. —RicketyTrigger 17:31, 2 October 2012 (MDT)

Trivia Concerns

Is the trivia that I added here worth keeping on here? --TimeTermite 01:23, 22 April 2014 (MDT)

Yes! Your contributions are certainly appreciated. - Kirbman 16:30, 22 April 2014 (MDT)
Thank you. --TimeTermite 18:52, 22 April 2014 (MDT)
I deleted some of the trivia that I felt like were bit too much of a stretch (i.e Chaos Kin = Man on the Moon), but I appreciate your contributions and the other interesting trivia you have found. —RicketyTrigger 04:02, 24 April 2014 (MDT)
