Zeus is a god whose role in Pit's quest is to prepare him for the trials ahead. As such, he can be encountered in the Sacred Training Chamber, flinging Monoliths and handing out weapons, or waiting patiently in the Sacred Chamber to grant an Arrow of Strength.

Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters
Zeus is now referred to by his proper name but otherwise fulfills the same role. If Pit leaves his training before it is over this time around, Zeus will simply say, "You must try harder Pit."
