Dark Pit is confirmed to appear in the upcoming game as a playable character. He was [http://www.twitch.tv/hamayama leaked] by a user's Twitch channel who got a copy of the 3DS game early. Before his confirmation, he made an ambiguous cameo at the end of [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqTW13AYniY#t Palutena's trailer] when the goddess questions if he has dropped in to crash her party, with which he responds with a smug "uh-huh". Interestingly, he also appears on the [http://www.kidicaruswiki.org/File:PalutenaSSB4_poster.jpg promotional artwork for Palutena], as seen in the distance. His musical theme from ''Uprising'' is confirmed to appear in the 3DS version.

He uses his [[Silver Bow]] as his main weapon and appears to be a [[smashwiki:clone|clone]] of [[Pit]], but has a few differences such as his [[smashwiki:side special|side special]], which appears to have electric properties for his [[Arm]]. His render and victory screen also depicts him curiously wielding his [[Dark Pit Staff]], but is currently not known which moves utilize it. He also has a unique victory theme which takes tunes from his iconic theme song.
