The Daybreak, known in Japan as the Genesis (ジェネシス Jeneshisu), is a powerful and destructive weapon introduced in Kid Icarus: Uprising. The Daybreak is found exclusively for Together Mode. Once the player assembles this device, the user can take aim and fire a massive blast that deals heavy damage towards any opponents, guaranteeing a sure knockout.
Appearances
Kid Icarus: Uprising
In Free-for-All, the player is required to solely collect the three separate parts (A, B, and C) to complete this device. These parts gradually fall down from the sky, with a notice advising the player a part arrived every time it does so. This is a tricky process since you only have yourself to rely on getting the parts and keeping them. In Light vs. Dark, the team collaboratively collects the three parts. Once a Fighter collects the final part for his team, he is gifted with the Daybreak. This method is easier and more difficult depending on how good the other teammates are. If the Fighters keep surviving without a single death, the Daybreak can be assembled quickly since no parts will be lost to the other team. However, if lots of deaths occur, parts will be picked up and lost at a quicker pace, making it harder for it to be made.
Idol Description
The massive weapon is made of three parts that can fire a devastating shot when brought together. In Light vs Dark, parts are shared by a team: whoever picks up the third part gets the Daybreak!
Super Smash Bros. 4
The Daybreak appears as a three-part combining item similar to the Dragoon. It is an extremely powerful weapon that ignores shields with potential One-Hit KO power, and a range that seems to stretch completely across a stage. The user can walk around with it after assembling all parts and fire at will.
Trophy Description
A weapon of great and terrible power. The name Daybreak might sound pretty cheerful, but in truth this weapon is destructive enough to doom the world. Unable to be used until all three parts are assembled, it's best to keep this out of your opponent's hands...

Trivia
- This item is clearly inspired by the Dragoon from Kirby Air Ride, which also required the player to collect three parts to complete the machine. Masahiro Sakurai, the lead designer of Kid Icarus: Uprising, was also the lead designer of Kirby Air Ride.
- The Dragoon also appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When a character collected all three parts they could launch an attack that would (under most circumstances) knock out the other player(s) in one shot.
