Hades was an extremely powerful deity, easily one of the most powerful characters in the game, second in might only to [[Dyntos]], the god of the forge. Hades was easily the mightiest opponent to be fought in the game, being the only character that, canon-wise, defeated Pit. Though their second fight was fairly even for most of the time, his victory over Pit in their first came with exceptional ease. Hades nearly killed the Pit multiple times, only failing due to the intervention of [[Palutena]] and [[Medusa]]. Hades was able to easily destroy the Three Sacred Treasures with one blast wave, as well as almost completely destroy the Great Sacred Treasure, which was much more powerful and more durable, with one attack, only one part being left operable afterwards. As the god of the Underworld and its true master, Hades had full power of control over his realm, with it appearing to be impossible to enter it without him knowing it right away, and he could house himself anywhere within the Underworld he wanted, even in the darkness, not needing a castle to live in like Medusa. Hades could use the souls sent to his realm to revive fallen allies and increase the size of his army. He could also devour them and increase his own power if he wanted to, but doing so would unbalance the natural order. In battle, Hades proved to be a deadly opponent, showing tremendous magical, weapons, and hand-to-hand combat prowess. Hades could fire off powerful energy blasts and barrages from different parts of his body, like his eyes and hands. He had a suit of armor he called his "devastation ensemble", which was covered with weapons also capable of firing powerful magic attacks. Hades was quite adept in taijutsu, able to attack very fluidly and quickly, and his strength was unbelievable. Hades was able to nonchalantly tear off Medusa's(a goddess similar to himself in size) right arm with one hand and destroy most of her body and kill her with one punch. Despite being so huge, Hades was extremely fast, arguably the fastest character in the game. Given his size, along with his strength and status as a god, Hades had incredible durability and vitality, having survived being bisected and beheaded only to regenerate these body parts easily and not even be slowed down. When his heart was destroyed, despite the considerable pain it caused him, Hades simply to brushed it off with a joke. Like the other gods, Hades is able to telepathically talk to others and project a giant astral hologram of himself wherever he wants. He also had a suction ability, which allowed him to swallow things whole, like he did Pit.
