:I think that's a bit much. One thing we can do is make users have to click a link in a confirmation email like F-Zero Wiki recently installed, and then the spambots won't be able to make userpages. If there was then a way to hide the user creation log from Recent Changes, that would aid us even further, though nobody I know believes such a possibility exists.
