:::::It's actually pretty common for game companies to patent certain elements and ideas, almost to the point of absurdity. However, this actually seems like a fairly unique idea. I've yet to hear of a game that has weapon fusing. Upgrading, customizing, and collecting maybe, but never weapon fusing.
