''An Erinus is an Underworld foe that prefers to attack in great numbers, though even when seeming to fight solo...it isn't. Its top and bottom halves can separate and fight independently, making it a diabolical duo!''

Erinus appears in [[Medusa's Final Battle]] and a few rare other places. Unlike its previous appearance, it can only split into two parts when killed- its upper body and its legs. Humorously, it is revealed that the Erinus wears blue-striped boxer shorts underneath its robes when it splits apart. If the upper body dies before the legs do, the legs will become permanently confused and can be defeated easily.

Humorously, it is revealed that the Erinus wears blue-striped boxer shorts underneath its robes when it splits apart. Before it splits, the Erinus attacks by firing energy balls at Pit; afterwards, the upper body will try to ram into Pit at high speed while the legs try to kick him. If the upper body dies before the legs, the legs will become permanently confused and can be defeated easily.

*The Erinyes were commonly called the Furies in Greek mythology, creatures of vengeance borne from blood that actually crossed many cultural boundaries, even showing up in the ''Inferno''. They are often depicted as winged women.

*In Uprising, the bottom half after it splits has no pants, only boxers. Pit makes a comment about this.
