He finds that a nearby human town is under attack and sees the Centurions among the chaos, then decides to investigate to the regret of putting the girl in danger. However, the girl trips and falls, losing the ring, and it is picked up by a dog. Pit, using the dog, hurries to the town and finds that his body is a part of the battle, much to his confusion. He then finds Magnus once again, who takes the ring and inspects it, but drops it to Pit's disappointment. Pit calls out, begging Magnus to pick the ring up, and Magnus eventually returns and puts it on. The two then find that Pit has taken control of Magnus's body and they can communicate due to the connection, and Magnus explains that three years had gone by since they fought Dark Lord Gaol.
