The wiki has been besieged by spambots lately- I've had to block nearly 50 spambot accounts in the last two days, and they still keep coming faster than I can block them. Is there some way that we can automatically block them before they flood the wiki with nonsense and spam? The only solution I can think of is a regional IP block, since I get the feeling that they all come from the same range from their poor grasp of English and frequent use of Chinese letters.--[[User:Anothrgamer1234|Anothrgamer1234]] 08:57, 3 July 2012 (MDT)

:Dear Maxite, I have a simple and effective idea as for how to remove these spambots. I'm sure it won't take long to set up. Icaruspedia must use the system of ''autocomfirming'' users. This means when a new member joins, he must wait for at least seven days to pass and for him to do 10 edits to create his own profile. The '''Super Mario Wiki''' already utilize this, and its effectiveness shows because from the year and a half I've spent with them I never came across one spambot. I hope you take this relatively simple idea into thought. For further reference of how this works, I suggest you click the following link: http://www.mariowiki.com/MarioWiki:Autoconfirmed_users
