The '''Biota''' (ビオタ ''Biota'') is an Aurum enemy introduced in ''[[Kid Icarus: Uprising]]''. It has the appearance of a small stand with a spinning ring placed on top. Around it float eight green energy orbs, giving it the appearance of having wings. Biota flings its energy orbs to attack; Pit can hit these with melee attacks to send them back at the Biota, dealing damage to it. Sometimes the energy orbs turn red, and they will explode if they hit Pit; these can also be reflected back at the Biota. The base of the Biota can also be destroyed with normal attacks. It's name is most likely based on the words "bio" meaning of life, and "iota", a letter of the Greek alphabet.
