Heart of Hades (ハデスのハートHadesu no haato) is the heart that lives within Hades, hence the name. It has two legs to move, tubes it uses to melee attack, and what seems like an eye in the center of it's body. The heart is introduced in Chapter 23, Lord of the Underworld. Defeating it doesn't kill Hades, but weakens him a lot, possibly a major contribution to Hades final defeat in The War's End.

Location

Hades' heart is not belonging to a human, but rather to a god. Therefore, special features from the norm are expected. This is why the heart is fought in a maze. The battlefield is similar to the original Bomberman. When the heart starts making copies of itself, the gameplay style reminds the user of the Pac-Man series.

Battle Style

When first encountered, it seems quite easy to follow the heart around and attack it. However, after a while or after taking enough damage, it will create a pseudo-copy of itself. Try to stay away from its copy (who can be told apart from the real one by its yellow aura) because it will eventually explode, sending vertical and horizontal columns of flame; these do not pass through walls. The heart may also drop mines, but these have a low blast radius and are simple to avoid. The real heart is actually a bit

annoying. After being dealt a certain amount of damage, it will gain a red aura, speed up for ten seconds and try to run into you. It's possible to dodge it, but it will be a pain with the copy trying to blow up next to you. Don't hit the fake; attack the real one. If you have a long-ranged weapon, it's possible to shoot over the walls and hit Hades's heart. Clubs are useful in this battle since they all(except the Atlas Club) have charged shots that go through the walls. These methods will make the battle a bit easier.

Trivia

  • Pit calls Hades's Heart cute, compared to its bowels.
  • It looks and moves like something out of Space Channel 5.
  • During the battle, Pit states that it is as close to a heart as Hades could have.
