The Staff (祖杖 Sojou, literally meaning "Ancestor Staff") is a type of weapon introduced in Kid Icarus: Uprising. Not much is known about this item, although it has been seen in multiplayer as a quick shooter. It's design is unique in that it almost resembles a cane and has a metal hook towards the top of it. The speartip serves as its primary melee weapon, but it seems to specialize in magic for ranged attacks.

Attributes

The Staff is shown to be an effective and unique weapon that can use magical attacks. It is also one of the longest weapons in the game, only being dwarfed by the enormous Tower. This quality likely makes it effective in close-range combat since the blade of the weapon can reach quite far. In addition, the Staff excels when it comes to long-range attacks, as some of its variations can cast magic spells that have unique effects on enemies, such as trapping them within a force field.

Variations

As of now, four variations of the Staff have been revealed:

Trivia

  • The Ancient Staff seems to produce magical projectiles with what appears to be the Eye of Horus and a sacred scarab, which were very common and important symbols in Ancient Egyptian culture.
