Dyntos is the god of the forge and a major character introduced in Kid Icarus: Uprising. He is revealed to be the original creator of the Three Sacred Treasures, as well as all of Pit's other weapons. The elderly god resides in a strange dimension that houses his workshop, where he can craft and manipulate anything from powerful weapons and living creatures, to entire recreations of various locations in Angel Land. Dyntos is said to be one of the most powerful gods, having the incredible potential to create the world's most powerful army. However, while he refuses to interfere in conflicts between the gods and humans, he still helps Pit by creating a new weapon called the Great Sacred Treasure after Hades destroys the original Three Sacred Treasures.

Characteristics

Appearance

He is an elderly-looking man of average height whose normal appearance belies his vast power and abilities. He has a long white beard and mustache and is mostly bald except for two tufts of hair on the sides of his head. He wears dull grey-colored clothing with a well crafted blue plate on his shoulder and a large hexagon-shaped metal brace on his left arm. His artwork shows him wielding a large metal hammer with which he presumably crafts his creations.

Personality

He mostly behaves like a grumpy old man who likes to be addressed with honorifics, such as "Sir" or "Lord Dyntos" and greatly dislikes it when he is shown disrespect by others. He is a wise and brilliant being, possessing vast knowledge on many things and is a genius craftsman, capable of creating weapons, machines and even living beings and replicas with ease. He takes great pride in his creations and his craft seems to be one of the few things that he shows genuine enthusiasm about. He does not show much interest or worry for the chaotic events that occur outside of his domain, often maintaining a rather mellow demeanor despite the apocalyptic events going on. Despite this, he does seem to genuinely care about the world to some degree. His lack of great concern for the world's state of near-annihilation however could be understandable as his powers allow him to easily create living beings and whole terrains with ease, and he could have just as easily rebuilt the world should the war with Hades gone out of hand.

Appearances

Kid Icarus: Uprising

In The Three Trials, he creates countless foes to test Pit's abilities, having copied many of Pit's past enemies for him to battle again to see if he was worthy of wielding his ultimate weapon and defeating Hades.

Trivia

  • His title of "God of the Forge" most likely indicates that he is based on Hephaestus, the Greek god of the forge and craftsmanship.
  • He may have been based or is a new take on Zeus (Kami-sama) from the original Kid Icarus. A powerful elderly-looking god who aided Pit indirectly by giving him great weapons if he passed his trials.
