Poseidon (ポセイドン Poseidon) is a character introduced in Kid Icarus: Uprising. He is the first divine character revealed that has not appeared in previous games of the Kid Icarus series. He is the mighty god of the seas and ally of Palutena who has very little patience for the monsters of the Underworld and humans filled with sin.

Characteristics

Appearance

He is a tall regal-looking god with light-blue muscular skin and long wavy white hair and facial hair. He wears regal-looking white and blue robes and a small crown on his head which signifies his status. His artwork also shows him carrying his signature trident with which he controls the seas.

Personality

Poseidon is a no-nonsense but fair deity who does not enjoy it when other take credit for his feats and will do what must be done for the good of the sea. He also has little patience for humans, believing them to be beings who are made of equal parts of hubris, envy and deceit, and shows them no mercy when they get out of hand, such as when he sunk an entire city long ago for its hubris.

In Chapter 7, he opens the sea after speaking with Palutena in hopes being rid of Thanatos and his invasion force. Palutena soon takes credit for this feat in front of Pit, but Poseidon soon appears to correct her and is tempted to close it back up, but chooses not to until Pit reaches the palace where Thanatos's headquarters are. Along the way he tells Pit of how troublesome the Underworld has been as of late and upon reaching the palace he closes the sea once more to finish off the remaining enemies left, once Pit is inside he wishes the angel good luck and disappears.
