Darkness

The Darkness Power in action

Darkness is one of the many Powers in Kid Icarus: Uprising. It can only be used during Together Mode. Upon use, any nearby opponents will turn dark and their screen will go black, with only other player icons visible.

Unlock methods

• Lv. 1: Defeat Thanatos in Chapter 7 while in Crisis Mode.

Black Hole Laser in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Mega Laser is one of the many Powers in Kid Icarus: Uprising. It can be used in both Solo Mode and Together Mode. Upon use, the player fires a large energy beam in the direction they are facing. Any enemy or opponent that comes into contact with the beam will take damage, though it can be dodged like normal attacks.

Mega Laser is also used during Palutena's Final Smash in the Super Smash Bros. series, changing angles slightly as it fires and dealing repeated damage to anyone caught in the Black Hole before exploding.

Reflect Barrier

Reflect Barrier in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Reflect Barrier is one of many Powers in Kid Icarus: Uprising. It can be used in both Solo Mode and Together Mode. Upon use, a magical barrier is created directly in front of the user, which will reflect any projectile attacks that connect with it. It will also deal slight damage and knockback by direct contact.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, the Reflect Barrier is one of Palutena's side specials, being her default one. Unlike in Kid Icarus: Uprising, Palutena's Reflect Barrier moves forward a little and does not last as long. It also will deal direct damage upon initial use, but will not deal any further damage as long as it is up. It can also break if it receives too strong of an attack. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Reflect Barrier is merged with Counter as her down special, activating when a projectile hits her rather than a direct attack. Because of the change in activation, it can no longer damage opponents, but does still push them a little.
