Magnus (マグナス Magunasu, known in Japan as "Magna" マグナ Maguna) is a character in the upcoming game Kid Icarus: Uprising. He has been confirmed as the strongest of the human race by Sakurai. Magnus appears to know, and expresses hostility to, Dark Lord Gaol. It has also been confirmed in gameplay videos that Magnus will fight with you in at least one of the game's locations, and that his purpose for battling is to get a money reward. He debuted in the E3 2011 trailer, and his first appearance will be in a chapter of the story called Magnus and the Dark Lord.

- Magnus' name means "great" in Latin, describing how he is the greatest in strength of the human race. The word was also used as an uncommon first name during Roman times, and later as a name of Scandinavian royalty meaning "house of might".
- Magnus is possibly inspired and named after Magnus Ver Magnusson, an Icelandic strongman who has won first place in the World's Strongest Man competition four times.
