Tamambo (タマンボ Tamanbo) only appears in the Overworld's Fortress. Animated by the evil power of Medusa, it's scissoring bite (lacking teeth) is a rather weak, but they always appear in swarms.
Tamambos are malevolent blue-colored, brass balls with a single eye and mouth. They attack Pit in large swarms within the Fortress. Although the manual description states this Underworld creature having sharp teeth, the artwork shows the Tamambo lacking them.
"A brass ball. It's been given the soul of Medusa. It flies and gets in Pit's way. It also gets a hold of things and cuts through them with its razor sharp teeth."
