Fighters only appear in the multiplayer mode of the game, and are neither shown nor mentioned in the game's solo campaign. They are used in both sports, Light vs. Dark and Free-for-All. In the latter, Fighters gather in a death match against each other, where the one with most kills and points is awarded the victor. Light vs. Dark is set aside for a higher class of fighters. Two teams, Light and Dark, are created, with three fighters and an angel in each. Pit fights for the Light team while Dark Pit for the opposing Dark Team. While both sports involve attacking rivals, it is only done for the enjoyment of the gods and the practice for the Fighters themselves. Otherwise, as mentioned above, they are unaffiliated, serving no major faction.
Idol Description
Warriors who compete in the divine sports of Skyworld. They fight for no side but their own, and though not as formable as Pit, they have skills that make them fierce in the field.

Trivia
- These soldiers look very similar to the Halberdiers from the Fire Emblem franchise.
- Fighters do not have their own Eggplant or Tempura models. If one were to look at their fighter's legs when they are eggplanted or tempuraed, they will notice that the legs look like Pit's.
