The Zurret (ザンザ Zanza) is a new enemy introduced in Kid Icarus: Uprising. This odd creature seems partially squid-like in nature and lives inside of a broken pot. It has a large and rather intimidating red eye, as well as two tentacle arms that primarily make up its soft body. The Zurret's most notable feature is its long, snake-like tail that allows it to extend from the jar it hides in. This enables the creature to reach extremely far, allowing it to block Pit even when he is flying. In addition, Zurrets can shoot twirling projectiles from both of their hands.

"A Zurret is effectively an Underworld fixed gun turret. Zurret larvae mature within days of being placed in soil. After growing, it hides until prey approaches, at which point it pops up and shoots a deadly accurate blast."

Zurrets are fairly common enemies found mainly during land battles but once or twice during air battles. It first appears in the land battle of Magnus and the Dark Lord.
