Souflee (ケーク Keeku) is an extremely obscure character introduced in Kid Icarus: Uprising. It is a living cake with a face printed on its front and back and a cherry-like eye on the top of its body. It is classified as unaffiliated with either the Underworld Army or Palutena's Army. In addition, this delicious creature is somehow capable of flight, being able to "swim" quickly through the air like a jellyfish. If Pit defeats one of these cake monsters, it will drop numerous Hearts and gives a large amount of points, but the angel must be quick before the Souflee tries to get away.

In Kid Icarus: Uprising

A Souflee first appears in Magnus and the Dark Lord within the storm clouds and will rapidly attempt to escape. Their very quick and irregular moving patterns can make them tough to kill, but the reward they give can be quite worth it. These semi-rare monsters make many more appearances throughout the game in both Air and Land Battles, usually in the unlikeliest of places.

Idol Description

Bonus enemies who reward those who defeat them with tons of extra points and hearts. They dash away when found, so do what you can to take them down before they disappear. Foodies beware: that cherry on top is actually an eye!

In Super Smash Bros. 4

Souflees appear as enemies in the 3DS version-exclusive mode, the Smash Run. They are rare enemies that drop powerful stat boosters.

Trophy Description (3DS)

NA: One of the cuter enemies to come from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Knowing Pit's love for all things edible, it's just cruel to disguise an enemy as a cake. See the little cherry on top? That's actually an eye! And nothing delicious would float around and attack in such an annoying, erratic way.

PAL: One of the cuter enemies to come from Kid Icarus: Uprising. We could tell you it's a cake, but that would be a lie. See the little cherry on top? That's actually an eye! And the way it darts around unpredictably, evading your attempts to hit it, is anything but delicious. The stat boosts it drops really are worth getting stuck into, though!

Trophy Description (Wii U)

NA: This cute little cupcake comes from Kid Icarus: Uprising. Just look at that adorable little cherry on top! Oh, wait... Nope - that cherry is actually an eye, which is kinda freaky. In Smash Tour, encountering one of these will give you a Checkpoint Bonus, so hurry up and chase it down for your sweet, sweet reward.

Trivia

  • It's name seems to be a pun off of "soufflé" and "flee", as the Souflee attempts to flee from Pit.
  • The line from the Souflee's trophy description: "We could tell you it's a cake, but that would be a lie", appears to be a reference to the infamous "The Cake Is a Lie" meme that originated from Portal.
